What year was splenda invented and where did it start?

im really curious on when and where splenda was invented and what time it was does anybody know.

Splenda was first discovered in 1976 and approved for use in the United States in 1998. It was discovered by Lyle & Tate in London.
I looked on the website but didn’t see anything right away. Maybe you should check it out.
