In many states some insulin’s and syringes are OTC.
He can have his doctor call in the scripts to most pharmacies.
He needs his medication .
It depends if he has type 1 or type 2. If type 2, no big deal. It is bad for his overall health but not life threateining or anything.
On the other hand, if he has type 1, it is a big deal. He can go into this condition called DKA. He will feel like crap, unable to catch his breath, and possibly develop brain swelling and die.
It is DEFINITELY a big deal, even if he is a type 2 diabetic. Not having insulin, or having very low levels of insulin (as happens with progressed type 2 diabetes) in your body can be fatal literally overnight. If he’s getting his prescriptions through a chain pharmacy, and there is one where he is traveling, he can go and see if they’ll give him refills or an emergency supply. If not, he needs to go to an emergency room to get his medication.
Again, a diabetic can die after a single day without insulin. They would definitely not be safe on the road driving. He NEEDS his meds.
