what should a diabetic eat when training for a half marathon?
Hello. I have recently found out that I have type II diabetes. As well, I am attempting to train for a half marathon for health reasons. It seems like runners eat a lot of carbs, but as a diabetic I must watch my carb intake.
Does anyone have any suggestions or know where I can find resources to help?

You can drink juice or an energy drink while the training.
ya
since you are going to be using a lot of energy your sugar will probably go low.
so some juice, glucose tablets, and some other carbs will definitely help.
I’m starting to read "The Diabetic Athlete" by Sheri Colberg. It has very detailed information about how insulin and glucose from the liver respond in various athletic situations, including long-distance running. It has solutions for both insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent diabetics. It would be a good resource for you:
