What is the safest way to lose weight with an insulin problem?
I have a very high insulin level all the time. My doctor has given me medication and says with a balanced diet and regular exercise I should be able to drop the weight. Well, exercising 5 days a week and eating healthy isn’t working. Any tips??

If you have high insulin problems, then the best diet to follow is a low carb diet as this will keep your blood glucose level low. Your over all calories still matter. Our caloric needs are based on our current bodyweight and sometimes it’s good to know what your goal weight is too. If I knew those two numbers, I could design a low carb diet for you. I designed one for my coworker when he was diagnosed pre-diabetic. The doctor gave him glucophage too. I told my coworker don’t take that. Follow this diet first. THEN go to your doctor and get your blood sugar tested. He did. His numbers dropped. His doctor was amazed and thought the pills were working great. My co-worker then told him he hadn’t started the meds, only a low carb diet I designed for him. Doctor said OH…..
Lifting weights 3 days per week will help. Doing cardio 3 days per week after the weights will also help. Each successive week thereafter, add 1 more day of cardio to the mix. Until you get to 6 or 7 days of cardio. 30 mins is fine each session.
you are either eating too much or not exercising enough..(I know that sounds frustrating) I’d suggest taking up weights if you only do walking at the moment
Im not gonna waffle on about it & im not selling anything… but the Harcombe diet is ideal for controlling insulin.
Its a diet based on eating all the foods that DONT cause you to produce insulin. It gives great descriptions (in the book) on how the body reacts to insulin etc.
Its similar to Atkins, but you are allowed fruit etc (in phase 2) so its easier.
Phase 1 is only 5 days long, but it is pretty strict.

I reckon this diet will help u to stabalize ur insulin AND help u to lose weight too.
Do more weight lifting and cut your sugar and eat more vegetables. But always consult with your doctor first before you try anything.
