well I would like to answer ur question as my father had gone through the same phase.
U should not have :-

Restrict urself from taking direct sugar.
Fruits with lot of natural sugar like grapes, mangoes, pears etc.
No oil , no ghee
Yolk of egg.
No non veg preparations
only one or two chapaties a day.
Have a balanced diet.
Bu most important of all have a balanced diet and that too fix ur timings for all the meals .Increase small portions of meal but try to avoid too much food at one time.
God Bless!

no foods are forbidden for any type of diabetes as far as I know, however you should restricted the amount of processed sugars and carbohydrates you consume. See the American Diabetes Assoc. website for more info on type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Diet for type one and type 2 are the same. Limit your carbs. Use sugar substitutes. Stay away from white bread and things made with white flour, including pasta. No white potatoes or white rice. Please don't listen when some type 1's will tell you that you can eat anything as long as you take enough insulin. This is NOT good control and it's not good to try to control your blood sugar this way. Recent studies have shown that many type 1's (mostly junior high and high school ages) do not really know anything about using diet to help control their disease. Even their parents do not know what foods their kids should be eating. Many take extra insulin so they can eat the same foods their friends are eating.
Get a dietitian or nutritionist to help you. Take some diabetes educational classes

Eat as healthy as a healthy non-diabetic would, and account for it with insulin. If it is bad for a diabetic, it is bad for a non-diabetic, and vice versa. Trying to eat the correct amount of vegetables, whole grains, etc is what everyone should be doing. Personally I find that when I have low carbs during the day I am weaker than the days I eat more. Carbs turn into energy and I don't know who wouldn't want to be more energetic. But try to get the carbs from healthy foods.
