I am looking for some sodas in AZ or to order online. I have found 4 flavors from Diet Rite. I read in a blog about Waist Watchers but it’s only sold back east and can not be ordered online. Do you know where I can find any other sodas that are calorie, caffeine & carb free made with Splenda and not aspartame or sacharrine?

Puff Pastry and Splenda Palmiers?

I was wondering if it were possible to make "cheaters" palmiers, using Splenda instead of sugar between the layers of rolled store bought puff pastry. I heard it does not caramelize in brulees– is caramelization necessary here? Or can i simply only coat the outer layer with real sugar?

Note: i’m a fan of the "harder" palmiers. i don’t like mine too airy. flaky, yes, but not fall apart. can this be achieved with leaving them in the oven off overnight?

How do I thicken splenda liquid?

How do I thicken splenda liquid?
I am trying to make a thick liquid out of splenda. Can you please let me know if I can use thick-it or something else to make splenda liquid thick? I am making indian sweets and many sweets are made out of thick sugar syrup. So, I want to make a thick splenda syrup. Can I use unflavored gelatin to thicken?

Do you think is safe for a child to be introduce to equal, sweet n low ,splenda and others of the many artificial sweeteners found today in the market ….even if they are healthy and dont need them.
for bB ..I just saw a splenda commercial that encourages parents to share it on drinks and food (cooking)with their children….I couldnt believe it!
I even use that stuff .. I only use some regular sugar

I was curious if there ARE really calories in Splenda.

As I understand, foods that claim no calories per serving are allowed to say that IF the actual calorie count is < or = 5 calories per serving.

I use Splenda a lot; as an example, I used about 1/3 cup on some frozen cherries, tonight.

I am trying to lose weight, but don’t want to actually sabotage my efforts, so I appreciate you taking the time to answer this question.

.

Thank you!

Hi all! :) I wondered how many other folks feel ill from sugar substitutes? I guess I shouldn’t call all of them "artificial sweeteners", since some are more natural than others. Anyway, I’m referring to stuff like Sweet N Low (saccharin), NutraSweet (aspartame), and Splenda (sucralose).

I’m not sure if it’s the actual substitutes, or some ingredient added to them during processing, but none agree with me. :( My symptoms vary, depending on the substitute, but I generally get one or more of the following: an unpleasant stomach ache, an overall "heavy" feeling, diarrhea, or large amounts of intestinal gas!!

I dislike the hyper-sweet taste and weird aftertaste of all sugar substitutes anyway, so it’ s no great loss that I have to avoid them. *chuckle*

At any rate, do you have any of these symptoms? Or perhaps other symptoms altogether? (I know of a few folks who get migraine headaches from sugar substitutes! UGH!)
Just for the record, I’ve never been an eater/drinker of products w/ sugar substitutes. I just tried each sub, to see what it was like, and had bad physical experiences with each. (My digestive system is sensitive/weird anyway, LOL) But that’s okay, since I don’t like the taste of the substitutes, and I have no need to diet either.

Even if I was dieting, I’d never make these subs a part of it — there are much better ways to make healthy nutritional and eating changes for weight loss! Unfortunately, it seems that the majority of folks I see who drink diet soda all the time are quite overweight. But I digress. Back to the answers….

just wondering when i saw a splenda-sweetened lollipop…cuz if the answer is no i’ll be so happy!!! :)
plaque comes from sugar in foods. If splenda has no sugar, how can it cause plaque?

I know there are chemicals in it, but it can’t make you gain weight can it? I use a lot of Splenda in my coffee because I like it really sweet, and if I used sugar it would add a lot of calories, I drink about 5 cups a day the least! I only use a little bit of super skim milk too, that adds some calories but I like it almost black.

I want to cut out sugar and cream and use skim milk and splenda but when I use skim milk in my coffee it doesn’t make it light colored or creamy.
