Just an example:
my daughter had 2 baskets full of her clothes in the front room. I asked her to help put them away; she said ‘no.’ My husband didn’t say anything to her; he starts yelling at me, telling me he wants the clothes out of there. When I reminded him she doesn’t want to help, he starts yelling at me, saying, "STOP!"
he acts like he’s done nothing wrong. he’s got part of it right: he’s done NOTHING. he watches t.v., goes off with whomever, and goes to bed early. even now he’s watching t.v. i really don’t know what to do.
he tried to ‘punish’ me earlier by "leaving" me, because i told him that we need to be on the same page, and as long as he fights me, she’s just going to be confused and nothing’s going to get done. he told me he’s leaving, i can go around with no car, and told our daughter to come with him. she cried and said, "No, I love my mom too much to leave her." (thank God.) after he left, she cried so hard, blaming herself for not obeying me. i said, "Oh wow, you didn’t obey. That’s ground for divorce." (that was after i continuously told her that she is not to blame; daddy’s just trying to punish me.) she kinda giggled, realizing it had nothing to do with her. we started to clean up, and he showed back up. he’s still being mean to me, tho, so i’m trying to stay away from him.
he’s just such a jerk to me. and i keep letting it happen. now he’s done it in front of our daughter. this is no good. she deserves better.
i don’t want us to break up, but i can’t take his constant belligerence and belittling me. he will act like he helps around the house when we have company, then stops as soon as they’re gone. then he wants to complain that the house is a mess, tho i’m CONSTANTLY working. if that isn’t bad enough, i’ve been so worried about bills, like medicine. we have no money in our pockets right now. but then i find out he bought 2 0 WII systems for his grand kids, through layaway. (so much more important than afford for diabetic test strips!) i’ve gone without in soooo many ways (I have ONE pair of socks to my name, for example), just to find out he’s WASTING our money til we’re broke.
i’m obviously not going to get through to him. what else can i do? do i HAVE to leave him? we only have one car, and without being together, i won’t stand a chance. i only ge 0/month. (I’m disabled with spina bifida.) he doesn’t make that much more than i do, which is all the more reason we need each other, financially.
it isn’t fair to our daughter or me. and it isn’t like he doesn’t know HOW to be nice. you should see him with the grands. he’s so funny and personable with them.
there’s got to be an answer. what am i missing? i’m sure i’m too close to the situation to think clearly.

I need to get one for a project. I’ve heard they’re a lot of money, but I looked around online and saw one for about , it probably isn’t as good, doesn’t come with enough test strips either, but its only a project, so I don’t need anything special. Does anyone know how much they cost? And a store that I could buy them at? Ex. Meijer, Target, K-Mart, Walgreens, Walmart, etc.

And I’m only testing 5 people once a week for four weeks. So I only need 20 test strips.

I just want to test myself to see if I am diabetic. I dont have the money for the strips and the meter.

As I get older and watch the decay of my parents and others that are older than I, I slowly realize that getting much older is really not a very good goal. So, I think that combating the various conditions of old age, like high cholesterol and high blood pressure, is really a poor way to spend ones money.

How do you taper off of these medications?

My mom is had diabetes, heart and lung problems, she was in ICU for a week now. I can’t travel because I dont have money and job. As a student and parent of two kids, I am broke and don’t know what to do to be able to help her, she is in Asia and the medical fees very expensive. Four years already, we did not see each other. Where should I seek help to supply her medication?

I’m asking because my boyfriend is recently diagnosed with Diabetes. The past two months, with all the Metformin, Avandia, Lantus, Novalog, needles, gauze, alcohol, meter strips, etc. We are struggling. His health insurance only provides 00 gross towards prescriptions PER YEAR. We are very quickly coming up on that 00 and it hasn’t even been 6 months. I’m curious to know, are we doing something wrong? Why can’t we afford this treatment? It seems like a good many Americans have Diabetes, how does everyone else afford the many prescriptions? We’re freaking out, because we don’t have the money for rent, gas, food, etc. We feel like the Diabetes treatment has to come first, but all these co-pays for specialists and prescriptions has drained our wallets, we can’t buy food, nevermind entertainment. How does everyone else afford this?! What can we do?

my 3 month old pup just ate 5 sweet n low (the fake sugar )packs she left the wrappers is she going to be ok? I don’t know is this dangerous in dogs??

Thanks everyone who replied. I called the emergency animal hospital first last night, they asked the vet on call and told me "probably" she’s fine but just in case check with animal poison control. They gave me the number, it was before I got to talk to anyone..i feel bad for people who can’t afford that I know they need money but seems high. Well anyway though, she is fine they said she’d have diarrhea and watch her but she really didn’t have any problems including diarrhea. She’s one tough puppy:)

My dog is scheduled to get spayed next week and the hospital offered a "blood test" to make sure she can handle the anesthesia okay. The test is . Should I pay it, or are they just trying to make money?

I started using Biotene products a few weeks ago after rave reviews, but then I started actually reading the tube of toothpaste. Not only can I not find an ADA label on it, but in the ingredients list it has glucose. Am I missing something here? I’ve since gone on a hiatus from the Biotene toothpaste because this does not make sense to me. Can somebody explain why there is glucose in a toothpaste, and whether or not I have wasted my money?

just found out im diabetic and i started meds i have no insurance and really tight on money so i couldnt afford to get the test strips so was wondering how many carbs in one day and sugar in one day a diabetic can have seems like everything has carbs help!!!

I have a Blood Glucose Monitor…..Accu Chek Comfort Curve and I am in need of The Test Strips….I don’t have the money to purchase them. If anyone can help me out, I would appreciate it…..If you have any that you’re not using, it would help me greatly…….

Is there anything the monitor does to make it worth the money?

I have had type 1 diabetes for a little over 5 years. I take an average of 4 – 9 insulin shots a day. I recently lost my job and my insurance benefits. I ran out of testing strips one week ago and I have not been able to afford to get any more. For the past week I have been guessing my blood sugar and I have been feeling okay.. until today.. I am very tired, shaky, anxious, and thirsty. I don’t know if my blood sugar is high or low.. so I am holding off giving my self any insulin. I would buy the cheapest strips but, I don’t even have the money for that. I have a job interview later this afternoon and I want to do well.. and I am concerned about my health.. Does anyone know a website that helps diabetics that are in need of medical supplies? I am not the type of person that asks for hand outs, but I am becoming greatly concerned about my health. I went into a diabetic coma 3 months ago and I scared that it may happen again if I don’t get my blood sugar under control. I would appreciate any advice.. Thank you.

Treatment for it has been about 10-11 months all the neurologist did was put me on was first she tried was cymbalta and know lyrica (first was 60 does and know it’s 150 X 2) I take one pill when I get up and another at night. The pill still does not help. So I think I am out of luck and need to see a hand surgery for my operation. Though if it’s needed I have some questions:
1) When they give you anistina will you fill anything even though you are sleeping?
2) My mom had it and she told me that it hurt after it was over?
3) I have it in both hands will the surgery be done in both?
4) What about my legs that have Peripheral neuropathy they tingle and such will surgery be done too?
5) Once they cut the tissue could carpal tunnel come back?

The only symptoms I do have are:
Tingling all over (hands, arms, legs, feet, head)
Aching all over
Shoulder sometimes hurts

I did have the EMG/NCS test done all over my body where it was affected.
Also I heard it cost allot of money.
