I’ve just been put on these meds and i’m very worried about side effects of all the meds that are on the market nodays. Seems the side effects are worse for you then what the meds are suppose to heal.

Had to do a fasting for my glucose reading because it was higher than normal. Went and got 190 something. Doctor then referred me to someone and talked about getting meds for at Krogers and having Diabetes classes. However, she did not just straight out say if I had it or not. Should this be assumed right this second or wait painfully until I see the other doctor?

I have ischemia and irregular heartbeat which I don’t really understand, erratic high blood pressure, an injured knee which is always kind of swollen (inflammed?), carpal tunnel and an ongoing neck injury from legal computer work (which I no longer do). I felt so exhausted, very weak, very depressed, mentally confused and slow. Needless to say, the incapable, weak, incompetent affects have never beeen a part of my life before. THEREFORE, I decided to stop all meds about 3 weeks ago. I really feel so much better and stronger. A nurse told me, no matter what, don’t take Lipitor; as you get older your muscles will all be wasted and you don’t want that. I DON’T want that. Now I am wondering what to do about the ischemia and clogged arteries . I’m leary of my heart dr. who told me I could take Adderall with ischemia and an inflammation bec. it speeds up my erratic heart??? Inflammation is not supposed to be good for ischemia. Can anyone help me understand where to do from here?

For example, I went to bed with a Blood Sugar of 116. I woke up 7 hours later and my BS was 178. An hour later (still fasting, and no meds), it was back down to 126. I understand that if one’s BS gets too low during the night, the liver might act to bring it up. How low does it have to get for this to happen? (I was diagnosed 3 months ago with diabetes 2 and since I’ve been testing, the lowest BS level I’ve seen is 106.)
I have Type 2 diabetes. I’m not on insulin. I take Metaformin 1000mg twice a day.
Tested again last night. I snacked a bit so my blood sugar was up to 136 when I went to bed. I was only 126 this morning.
This seems counterproductive to me. Our goal is to lower our blood sugar levels. But when mine is low at night, it’s soaring in the morning. If it’s on the high side at night, then it’s slightly lower in the morning. This is one confusing disease.

NOTE: I am a diabetic 1 and on an insulin pump. I really want to stop taking so many meds and I was wondering if I eat well, can I stop taking them.
Lisinopril is for high blood pressure and Lipitor is for high cholesterol.
ANOTHER NOTE: I, of course, will talk to my doctor so don’t say to talk to my doctor.

I have been recently diagnosed a type 1 diabetic and have been told I need an insulin pump as it acts like an artificial pancreas. My blood sugars on insulin have been at an 8% A1C and have an extremely restrictied diet to prevent highs/lows which the dr. seems to pleased I have gone that far. I am looking at the medtronics revel and the one touch ping as I have narrowed out a lot of the others so far, mainly I like them for the Continous Glucose Monitoring. My questions are this, 1. Is it any cheaper than giving myself shots 5 times a day (after the initial pump purchase) and the other meds that come with all the shots. 2. Easier to use than the shots 3. Which one is better to use outta the 2? 4. Is their anything I need to worry about shots vs. pump?
If you use a pump what kind do you use and what do you love/ hate about it….
Please don’t give me a link, I am wanting real answers from people who know or use these devices. Providing me a link to a search engine and others and tellling me to click here is not an answer.

Spare me the anti-drug lectures, please:
I took oxycodone the night before I went to get "routine" doctor-ordered blood work done. The paper from the doctor didn’t say anything about a drug test or anything, so I’m assuming from everything I’ve read that the lab only tested my blood counts, blood sugar, hemoglobin, etc…
I just want to make absolutely sure that when I go back to the doctor tomorrow to hear how my blood work was, he won’t throw me a curveball by asking why my blood had opiates in it. It’s especially important because the primary reason I got the blood workup was to help diagnose my chronic back pain and trouble sleeping. And my pain is real (hence the oxy i took!), and I don’t want the doctor to think I’m just fishing for meds (which i’m NOT, at all).
So yeah… it won’t show up, right?

My numbers had been out of control lately even though I try to walk daily & also play tennis. My new MD (an endocrynologist) took me off the old meds and has put me on Byetta 2x a day & metformin at night. Even though my sugar is near normal at bedtime, my readings are still high when I awaken. That was true before these new meds as well. Experience anyone?

I have been a type 2 diabetic and have had high blood pressure for 6 years now. I am sick and tired of taking (and paying for) these meds. I hear and read about people treating their diabetes with just diet and exercise. Where is the best information on how to do it?
I am 6’5" and 245lbs. I have a lot of aches and pains, some may be due to the extra weight, some of the pain from trying to work out.

Should I talk to my doctor about this? My fasting blood count is about 135 to 145. Then it goes to normal or below after my meds. Sometimes it goes too low like in the 60′s to 70′s after a work out(I ride a bike daily). I always carry glucose pills with me just in case. My last doctor check up, my blood sugar was just fine(this summer). So, do you think I should have it checked again?
Let me clairfy. I have a once a year physical and this year, early summer, my blood glucose count was fine, but my daily count was like it is now. The doctor seemed fine with all my blood tests. So, I’m still concerned with my fasting count and low blood sugar after excercise.
