This medication can cause congestive heart failure to worsen, but for how long? One week, two weeks? Anyone know what the general time frame would be?

All day long it acks I do take medication for it but I am not sure it working. The drug I am takeing is called Lyrica 200MG. Just not working for me but everyone says yes it works no more pain…… Been takeing it almost all year know. Will I always have this pain?

It does reduce my cholesterol, but it also has serious side effects, and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I am going to ask my doctor to change the medication for another.

I was diagnosed with diabetes a month ago. I follow a strict diet. I have slipped with eating candy about 4 times and I notice my blood sugar actually goes down after this. I’m usually steady with levels around 105, but after the candy I go down to 80′s! Why?
I am on metformin medication.

I am a 31 year old female with type 2 diabetes. I also have a congenetial heart disease called PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale). I am not on any medication for the PFO because it is small. They are just watching it for now as I grow older.

Here is my problem. There has been a recent study on the type two diabetes drug avandia, about causing heart issues. I was on this drug for 3 years, 1998 to 2001. Then got pregnant and after the baby went on metmorfin. I am not sure what I should do. Get a EKG or what. I mean that was 6 years ago you would of thought I would have had side effects by now.

Any ideas.

My doctor wants to put me on a certain medication that has an unknown effect on a fetus. Since there is a good chance that I could be pregnant this month, she did a blood pregnancy test first to rule out a pregnancy- the results will be available tomorrow morning.

My period isn’t due until July 30th, which is an entire week away. Would a positive result show up this soon even in a blood test? How early was a positive blood test detectable for you?

I found out I have high glucose (pre-diabetes) … so I’m now taking medication and trying to change my diet and lifestyle. I do exercise daily for about an hour. I just want to start a diet and I’ve not had too much luck looking online. Every site tells me what I can NOT eat… but I can’t really find anything to tell me what IS good to eat…
Anyone have type 2 diabetes or high glucose ?? What kinds of things do you eat? Like as far as meals…? thanks in advance.

I was just prescribed metformin for my pcos. I take 500mg a day for now and have had no side effects. I know it does something to your blood sugars and want to know if there are certain foods I need to make sure I eat while taking this medication and certain foods I should avoid. Thanks for your help.

My mom has been on Lipitor for 2+ years. Very recently she has been feeling like a "zombie" as she put it. She feels no emotion and feels "empty". The only medication is has been on is Lipitor. I read the side effects of Lipitor and, sure enough, depression is one of them.

Is it possible that even though she has been on Lipitor for 2+ years, the side effect can occur now?

A recent study has found that 75% of diabetics cheat on their diabetic medication. Why would they do that? Isn’t it dangerous?

I know it is a crazy question but I am very new to this. My son is 8 and just diagnosed a week ago. A friend from Africa who has traveled all over contacted me and said she had researched it before and found out that America is the only country that first resorts to medication and insulin, and that in some countries there were studies that some have been cured in 6 mos. Mind you this friend is all about natural remedies for everything, she does not believe in modern medicine. She gave birth to a child last year that died because she wanted to be at home and not a hospital. Anyway she is pushing me to watch some video that explains her thoughts. I was just wondering what do I tell her. Since I am new to this I do not really understand it enough to be able to respond.

Hi, my mom is Type 1 diabetic…on insulin shots(3 times a day) and no other medication….from last 2 days she has started taking Nutrilite Daily tablets(1 per day)…..Today her stomach is upset and shes suffering from loose motions…Is this anything to do with Nutrilite Daily Tablets?….do they have any side effects?….n what is the solution to stop loose motions?

I have been taking glucophage for about 3 years and it now seems that my kidney function level is extremely elevated. I control my diet and I exercise, yet the protein level continues to increase! Should I be taken off this medication as soon as possible before I encounter any more damage? Plus, I am only 28 years old (type II diabetes).

My father has diabetes and takes his medication every day but doesn’t watch what he eats or check his sugars. He had a liver transplant in 2003 and shortly after developed diabetes which is common. His anti-rejection drugs are taxing on his liver as is the diabetes so it upsets me very much that he doesn’t take care of himself. He has received three different machines and strips to test his blood sugar but loses them all the time. My mother got him a machines and test strips from a woman who doesn’t need hers anymore at church this morning and when he tested his blood sugar it was 467! He said the machine must be wrong so I tested mine and it was 103 which is normal. I say he needs to go to the emergency room since his doctor is not around on a Sunday. I don’t think this should wait until tomorrow. What do you guys think? How dangerous is a blood sugar of 467?
