Do I have diabetes (type 2)?

I’m 13 and 5 foot 1. I only weigh 78-80 pounds. I am not overweight. I usually am not too thirsty but sometimes I get really thirsty. However, I usually never drink more than 2-3 cups of water a day. I urinate twice a day. Once in the morning and before I go to bed. But on Saturdays and Sundays, I urinate around lunch as well. I have noticed that my skin is a little itchy. It’s not my arms that are itchy, it is my legs. I thought they were itchy because I shave them and my skin is dry. But, apparently that is a symptom of diabetes. I exercise everyday for 30 min. However, I sometimes eat a lot of candy. I do not have blurred vision. My grandmother had diabetes type 2 and so does my dad. Do you think I have it to?

Right now it is 12:00pm. I have to go for a gestational diabetes test at 1:30pm. Can I eat lunch? If so, what can I eat…practically EVERY food has some sort of sugar in it!!

I had gestational diabetes and am overweight. I would like to start the diet again. I can’t remember the carb breakdown….
I think it was something like
bfast-15
snack-30
Lunch-45
snack-30
dinner-45
snack-15

this seems like a lot of food to me…..
Am I remembering it wrong?

I was checked at 16 weeks and didn’t have it. I was checked at 28 weeks at was at 106 so i didn’t have it. then they checked me again at 32 weeks. I was 145. so not to much over the limit. I was never given the 3 hour test but I think I should have been. I have been put on the diabetic diet and given a meter to check my blood sugar. I was really good about my diet for a few days then I had a family issue. needless to say I had to eat what was provided. my blood sugar was fine! I tried the next day not portioning out any of my meals, still eating healthy but not using portions. my blood sugar was still fine. today for lunch I had Kraft Mac and cheese… again still fine. can I ask for the 3 hour test? will my insurance still pay for it if I ask for it? after explaining myself to the doctor do you think there is a reason for him to tell me I cant have it?
I am only 34 weeks and my baby is already 7 pounds 5 oz as of last wednesday. that is why I was tested at 32 weeks. I dont know why but everyone in my dr. office gets tested at 16 and 28 weeks
due July 9th~ Gestational Diabetes is diabetes only when pregnant. I am sorry for your friend but she has regular diabetes. not gestational. mine will go away once I give birth.

I am taking Metformin for insulin resistance. The doctor tested my glucose level in the morning when I hadn’t eaten for about 12 hours. It was normal. However, sometimes in the afternoon I get dizzy.

So my question is, could my blood sugar go lower in the afternoon (even though I would have eaten lunch) or is blood sugar always at its lowest level when you have been fasting?
Wait, so you’re saying glucose is HIGHER when you’ve been fasting? I thought it would be lower.

Non-diabetic low blood sugar?

My mother is diabetic(I am not), and we were talking about her blood sugar testing machine- the one that pricks your finger and you place the blood on a strip for the machine to test. I decided to see what my blood sugar level was and was a little startled to see that it read as 83. I am a 28 year old female, I am in good shape, get a decent amount of exercise, and tested myself about and hour and a half after I ate lunch. Is 83 normal or is it low? Should I go see a doctor?

So i’m really interested in blood sugar and diabetes and my diabetes Type II runs in my family. I’ve been taking my blood sugar about once a day for the last 3 weeks. The lowest I have been was 76 and the highest was 157 (this was about 4 hours after supper one night and I really wasn’t feeling well). I just took my blood sugar because I’m really not feeling well (tiredness, nausea, headache, and a few other things) and it was 149. Could this be a reason I’m not feeling well? I’ve taken it a few days 4 times a day and my blood sugar is kind of strange because it is low in the morning (so that’s not weird) then goes high before lunch and supper then kind of drops off. Could I have pre-diabetes?

Is this diet plan good for a diabetic?

My blood sugar count is 120 mg/dl on 8 hours of absolute fasting. My weight is on the higher side. I am 176 cms tall and weigh 95 kilos or 209 pounds. So in order to reduce my weight, i have decided to reduce my rice intake (i eat parboiled thailand rice).
I have my breadfast at around 8.30am and get hungry around 12.30pm for lunch. At 12.30pm I eat a handful of pistachio and walnut mixture. So my hunger subsides and at 1.30pm or so I eat little rice with vegetable or fish curry or fry. This way the amount of rice intake is reduced. Is this okay for me?/ Please advise

I also do not drink any aerated drinks and take tea without sugar and also take two green tea everyday.

Please advice.

Im hypoglycemic now what can I eat?

Im so confused the doc said just to make sure Im eating proteins with my carbs……then gives me a paper that tells me whenI have certain symptoms dink juice or hard candy. I read up and understand the protein thing I think, but it seems like a lose lose situation. I dont get enough sugar yet I should eat sugar because then my body will over produce insulin and my sugar will drop dangerously low. SO can I have a stinkin glass of juice or not? I hate this its so depressing – mainly because its so confusing. I go to my endocrinoligst (whom I have for thyroid soon) but my fam doc did the test and I feel so uninformed…..and everythign I read sounds so scary I have fasting hypoglycemia my level was 39.
Well the hardest part is I dont get symptoms even then I felt fine I dont even feel hungry in the morning and since I cant eat before or after my thyroid med I usually just dont eat till brunch sometimes lunch or when I get hungry but I dont get hungry in the morning….sometimes I eat a small meal before bed so Im sure that contributes but even when I dont Im just not a morning eater and now I have to force feed myself Im guessing. The reason I was tested is because after I eat lunch in the afternoon I often crash hard and just want to sleep a few hours later Im fine. Other than that fatigue I have no symptoms – even at the 39 I felt fine?!
that last website was about excercise and weight loss – Im thin and excercise 5 days a week…..:(

I’m 31 weeks pregnant, gestational diabetes, my blood sugars since I’ve been monitoring with the special made diet have been elevated several times. My range is below 120 two hours after meals, below 95 fasting. My fasting, breakfast, & lunch ranges have all been high. I really don’t want to go on insulin but wondering if dr. will find it is best with these high readings.

I am definitely doing this, so please do not attempt to convince me otherwise. I want to know how to slowly get off of insulin. I am no longer taking it before dinnertime, and have reduced my dosage for other meals as well as my long-lasting insulin (Lantus). Should I just stop taking it with another mealtime (lunch or breakfast) or slowly6 reduce the dosage until I can tolerate none.
