i heard this somewhere i don’t know where it was.you open a can of beer and poor it out as your say your preys to the person that passed away,as the can of beer suppose to be their last drink on earth.i want to say that an Irish trait witch if it is then that explains why it felt right to do because i have Irish in my blood,i mean i didn’t do beer because i don’t drink and nether did my friend all the way up till he passed away but he had low blood Sugar count so i always saw him with a can of mountain dew till the day he died.so i opened a can of mountain dew as his last drink on earth while i said my preys for him and his family.but like i said i heard it before but it was with a can of beer and i cant remember where i heard from does anyone else know?

Now a days i am feeling like blurred vision.Is this because of low blood sugar or high blood suar i am feeling like this,

my 17 year old daughter is unwell at the moment and has been now for approximately two weeks. It started with her finger nails growing lumps on them from the cuticle. She visited the doctor with this and he did a blood test, this came back with low blood sugar and low white blood count. This blood test was repeated a few days later and is apparently normal. This doesnt help me as she is going through spells of extreme tiredness and generally feeling really unwell. She is having spells of shaking, dizziness, light headed and feeling like she is going to faint and a feeling she describes as everything is a huge effort to do. Then twice now after she has eaten she has got very hot feeling very unwell, her hands and feet feel clammy (sweaty) and she feels her chest is very heavy again she feels very unwell. Does anyone have any suggestions please. Thank you
I have taken my daughter back to the gp today and tomorrow she is having a blood test for fasting glucose would anyone suggest that this could be diabetes would this make her feel like this
im not sure how to answer peoples questions to me on this website so i will do it this way for now. my daughter eats a very healthy diet of fresh fruit vegetable and meat.

I would like to know how accurate blood glucose meters are? I have low blood sugar and often get readings in the 50′s and it scares me to death and gives me terrible anxiety. My family says i shouldn’t believe everything my meter reads because they don’t give 100% accurate readings and i know they are not 100% but i would feel better if i knew how inaccurate or off they normally can be. I use a one touch ultra meter.

I was recently diagnosed with low blood sugar, my doctor wants to try a change in diet. I was wondering if diet change dont work, what medication do they usually put you on?

I’m 16 years old and I can finally give blood this year, But I’m Hypoglycemic.. I’m not sure if I can, but I’m guessing no.. Why not? (Specifically) I mean it’s obvious that I have very low blood sugar, But would it not be enough to just give me like cookies like everyone else?

Well about a year ago my daughter 11 yrs old. had problems with very low blood sugar & the peditrician that we had made me test her 3 times a day and as she was symptomatic. Well the Dr.my daughter seen left the practice just recently about 8 months ago & handed it on to another doc in the mean time. Well the new Dr. called in more refills for my daughters script (glucose test strips) and I kept treating her as the previous Dr. told me to do.
In the mean time The pharmacy where I go to which is the only pharmacy near my town, has been filling the script. A few times during gym the nurse had to test & retest my daughter due to hypoglycemia and the nurse used a quite a few strips so I called the pharmacy they filled them early like 6 days early. Well the pharmasist got mad and told me that I was abusing my daughters test strips and told me that I cannot get them filled early anymore although my insurance covered them early and refused to give me my daughters strips. He then accused me for using them myself or giving them to someone else!
So I called my insurance company and they told me they would call the pharmacy and make sure they would be dispersed and the pharmacy still would not! In desperation and lack of other resources I called the Dr.s office and they said I would have to think of something different because the pharmasist called and told them I was misusing the stips for something other than my daughter and suggested to the doc that he cancel the script, the doc cancelled them and told me to go find another doc who would fill them. I was embarassed and mad knowing that I woulkd not abuse such a thing and my daughter needs them.
So I went to the pharmacy to buy some over the counter so she could have some to bring to school with her and the pharmacy told me no. so my daughter had to go to school & play a soccer game without strips because of this. She is a hypoglycemic and has no strips. I have no other way of getting them and I am a scared Mom for her.
Not to mention that is the only pharmacy wothin 2 1/2 hr drive and they wont help. Also the way the pharmacist humiliated me and made things difficult tees me off. Do I have any leagal cases on this? What should be my next step? Thank You

i got 62 today on my fasting reading at 8am. I don’t test myself only once in a awhile. the background of my issue is that i got a high reading on a routine blood test (110) and then after that i got a1c tests done 6 months apart and both times they were 5.3 (normal). and then i got fasting glucose tests done and they were normal also around 92.

i have tested myself periodically to just check and make sure i’m not having any issues and it’s always been in the normal range of 70-100 so now wiith this test this morning it made me wonder if it was a mistake or if occassionally you can have a low blood sugar due to hormones, etc. (i’m just done with my period). i tested myself again 3 hours later and i was 77.
i’m not a diabetic yet but i’m trying to prevent that just in case i might have a tendency. my only high risk is that i’m part native american otherwise i have normal weight and participate in sports.
also since i had a high reading that one time – how can i get a low low reading another time? i mean aren’t you either high blood sugar or low blood sugar? i’m confused….

i know they’re basically total opposites but the symptoms are so similar. and ill have low blood sugar like in the 60′s-70′s, ill eat, it will go up to about 150, and it only takes an hour, and it’ll be below 100 again :/ BUT than there are days when it can reach 200(that’s my concern for diabetes) but there is always that immediate drop. i have to eat very frequently because ill feel hungry and weak. any opinion will help, please and thank you.

I’m 24 years old suffering from low blood sugar some how some way.

I have gone through the glucose test a while back my doctor thinks my blood sugar is normal.
Well my blood sugar was stable 80-90′s. I was worried.

6 months go by and the symptoms hit me and I feel worse and I’m in this dizzy feeling like passing out.

I don’t even know if I am diabetic.

I have been having low blood sugar on and off for the past 6th months my readings have been 51, 64 , and I feel bad when it hits the low point when I am 70 and I know my blood sugar is going to drop low I can feel it.

I got my first test strips of 100 for my Aviva Ac-cu-check last month to be sure about this.

I have changed my diet the best I can!
I have even stopped drinking caffeinated drinks that includes my favorite Coffee…
I have emergency sugar ,but I just keep feeling worse.

I do not know what to do , but maybe I should see a different doctor , or take the glucose test again?

Anyway my doctor scripted out those glucose test strips , and I had one hell of a conflict with the Walgreens Pharmacy, and other pharmacies like Kmart which caused me a hurtful embarrassment that I don’t think anyone suffering hypoglycemia should suffer.

My doctor was wanting me to monitor my low blood sugar , and for some reason I got chewed out for not being diabetic and NO YOU CAN"T HAVE TEST STRIPS..

And I’m saying I don’t even know if I am diabetic , but even if you are hypoglycemia is that really the signs of diabetes?

What kind of doctor would do this to a young patient in pain?

I could die if they can’t determine whether I’m diabetic or not because I hurt , and I am reaching out to the people across the internet tell me what hypoglycemia is!!!!

Puppy had shots up to date , parasite check was negative , but received med anyway just in case . Had been seen and checked by Vet twice in her short life and no disease or abnormalities were noted .She was rushed to Vets , lab test showed Low blood sugar , low blood count , and one liver enzyme elevated . All other blood values and test were normal .She received glucose to elevate her blood sugar , IV fluids , and an antibiotic. She remained weak and lethargic and died the next day .

I have hyperglycemia and I’m looking for some tricks to raise blood sugar levels? Also, any tips on how often to eat? And good snack ideas? Anything helps! Thank you
