what indicator is used to determine if glucose is present in a compound? what does a positive test look like?

Im suppose to fast after 12am and drink that nasty glucose drink at 9am then come in at 10:00am. I normally wake up at 7am if I don’t eat right away I get sick. If I eat some crackers or a nutrigrain bar will it make me fail the test?

im trying to figurre some stuff out here,if a person has untreated diabetes is the body able to turn body fat into energy? or is the problem just with glucose entering cells? also, i was on medicine last year and i gained 50 pounds, so now i lost like 43 lbs, and so im thinking since i was able to gain weight maybe im not diabetic. Also is lighted headedness a sign of diabetes?

so im making a concept map with: lactase, latcose, glucose, milk, test strips, and galactose.
know how to connect them?
the test strips were used to see how much glucose were in the different samples of milk we used

Please Help as much as you can. The question again is:

How will decreasing the amount of glucose affect the rate of ATP production by the cells(in moles ATP / hr) if the amount of yeast in the experiment is held constant?

I can only think of this reasoning:

There will be less ATP production because ATP relies on glucose to make energy. So if there is less glucose then there will be less ATP.

my 17 year old daughter is unwell at the moment and has been now for approximately two weeks. It started with her finger nails growing lumps on them from the cuticle. She visited the doctor with this and he did a blood test, this came back with low blood sugar and low white blood count. This blood test was repeated a few days later and is apparently normal. This doesnt help me as she is going through spells of extreme tiredness and generally feeling really unwell. She is having spells of shaking, dizziness, light headed and feeling like she is going to faint and a feeling she describes as everything is a huge effort to do. Then twice now after she has eaten she has got very hot feeling very unwell, her hands and feet feel clammy (sweaty) and she feels her chest is very heavy again she feels very unwell. Does anyone have any suggestions please. Thank you
I have taken my daughter back to the gp today and tomorrow she is having a blood test for fasting glucose would anyone suggest that this could be diabetes would this make her feel like this
im not sure how to answer peoples questions to me on this website so i will do it this way for now. my daughter eats a very healthy diet of fresh fruit vegetable and meat.

How does the law of thermodynamics explain this?

p.s I know that glucose is a monomer of starch.

I understand why type 1 diabetes patients need to inject insulin, but why for type 2 ?
under type 2, there is a production of insulin but (frankly speaking) its useless, at least that is what I think type 2 diabetes is….

I’m only guessing "the more Insulin one has, the better glucose goes in the cell" or " the patient injects insulin that is suitable for type to diabetes"

I got my results in from a blood test I took last week..
it says my glucose is low (55)
What does this mean? my doctor wanted me to take the test to see why I’ve lost so much weight.. (i’m a 14 year old girl 5’1 and weigh 85lbs)

it also said my cholesterol was high }:| which I don’t understand because I eat so healthy..
will I be alright?

Like those diabetic strips that attaches to a meter and measures blood sugar – Can they be used to measure sugar content in foods?

If not, I need to find a way to measure the amount of sugar in juices for a science experiment.

PS: I’m in high school so no expensive equipment! Thanks.
The juices I am testing are fresh – Like squeezing an orange. There is no bottle I can check from.

I was told by the doctor today that I need to go in tommorrow and get a test for Glucose and Thyroid and to not eat or drink after midnight (fast) before the test. What do they do for these test? Do they just take blood or plasma?
