me and my dad want to promote our business we buy diabetic test strips and we want to target senior apartments and any other place we might want to send them. our question is how do we go about this? we know you buy postcards and you must either create or buy mailing lists. then you mail them out. but we dont know how to make a list or the targeted places we want. and if its really expensive to do this. and how we get them mailed out like do we take them to the post office or what. so any help is really appreciated because we would really love to do this. thanks
im sorry im not more specific but i am new to direct mailing and i need to know just the flat out process it takes. thanks

I was just trying to help her, and even got her an appointment with the chief medical officer of slimband who speaks her language.

She’s 5’4" and about 150 lbs. She is always constantly complaining about pain and tiredness and headaches… frequently napping and doing nothing while most of the work is undone and she is constantly tired and stressed. Her BMI is 29, so she is considered overweight. I know her weight isn’t a big issue, however, I am looking into her health history that most of the problems that persists today are mostly originates from her weight and eating issues. She is a gluttonous person. Ever since she’s been diagnosed (I was suspicious at the fact that she always had diabetes type 2 for a while now), only now she’s been eating less. Though I know she won’t be able to persist with this kind of "diet" for long, knowing that she sneaks in snacks now and then, and eats whenever she is taking a break. She is usually hungry…

She kept saying I am crazy and stupid that she doesn’t need it and she is skinny. Haha, tell that to her big stomach….

I just want her to live a long healthy life without ME taking care of her. I want her to be similar to my grandma, who’s always active, on the go, and obviously not overweight like her.

I asked her to just come to the free consultation and meet with the doctor for just an hour or even less than that and she refuses… stupid woman. My dad kept criticizing that she doesn’t need it and says that the surgery (not knowing what it actually does and how the procedure works) will hurt her more (I know, it’s not about her weight.. it’s everything, I just want to reduce all that is bad because of her prolonged poor diet and lifestyle). He’s so ignorant….

My parents don’t speak, read, or write English. So they don’t know what this stuff is about, that’s why the one-on-one consultation with a professional doctor who speaks their dialect may help to further their understanding. I can’t show it to them because they are illiterate in English, and if I try to translate they will just refuse to listen. I just told her that it will help you lose weight. They have very good methods of ignoring me. They even told me to go back to my boyfriend’s place and stay there. I just got angry and yelled at both of my parents. Yelling my father to stay out of it, and yelled at my mother to remind her why she has diabetes, why she has so many illness, why does she need surgery so often, why is she always tired, having headaches, stomach pain, and etc…. she didn’t listen and said I was crazy and I asked her to see the doctor for one hour and she refused and said "I am skinny and those things are for obese people" and I go like, "so you’re gonna wait until it’s too late just to have this surgery that will take years to get the healthy results you may want?" It’s just long term procedure.

She said, "if you want me to be healthy, just be a good girl and stay home and give me money for a vacation!~!! *puts her hand out*"

I have no income, I use student loans to pull my trousers up for school and general stuff. wthhhh

I need advice from any nurses or doctors out there?

My dad has hepatits C. I was carrying in a plastic bag for him, and he blood glucose meter was in there. He had left in a used test strip. It poked through the plastic bag and scraped my leg (I was wearing shorts). I immediately doused it with alcohol. What else should I do? Do you think I am infected now? I’m pretty sure it broke through the skin slightly because I have a scratch line visible.

question about diabetes type 2?

my dad.. middle 50′s was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. He has to make lifestyle changes and is doing a good job at changing what he eats.
Is it fair that everyone else in this house has to give up their favorite foods and start eating things that taste like cardboard?
He is quite the controlling "man" of the house and its like we have to follow whatever he wants.
I realize being supportive and eating the dinners he makes and saying they taste good and we all like it, but what if thats a lie?
We all grew up on I guess you can call, "not so healthy" foods. I think its selfish he expects 4 other family members to not eat what we like anymore.
maybe I’m the selfish one.
any comments appreciated
ty Mike. and we do all "try" what he does make. and some of them are actually really good. I dont know much about type 2 diabetes.
Its just the fact he expects everyone to change. like an alcoholic who has quit and everyone around him cant drink. ? hope that makes sense.

Do I have diabetes (type 2)?

I’m 13 and 5 foot 1. I only weigh 78-80 pounds. I am not overweight. I usually am not too thirsty but sometimes I get really thirsty. However, I usually never drink more than 2-3 cups of water a day. I urinate twice a day. Once in the morning and before I go to bed. But on Saturdays and Sundays, I urinate around lunch as well. I have noticed that my skin is a little itchy. It’s not my arms that are itchy, it is my legs. I thought they were itchy because I shave them and my skin is dry. But, apparently that is a symptom of diabetes. I exercise everyday for 30 min. However, I sometimes eat a lot of candy. I do not have blurred vision. My grandmother had diabetes type 2 and so does my dad. Do you think I have it to?

My friend did the blood test first to see if her baby has down syndrome and it came back positive. Then went ahead and did the test where they poke your belly to get the amniotic fluid out and test it. The also did a scan to check the babys measurements. He doesn’t have down syndrom but he has short legs cuz of his dad. So why did the blood test come out positive?? If he doesn’t have down syndrome then could he have something else? I hope not tho.

questions about diabetes type 2?

ok first i’ll start off by saying i am 5 feet tall, around 3 hundred pounds, yes i’m trying to lose weight, i have had a membership to the female gym curves and i go at least 3 times a week plus i walk alot especially in the summer, i don’t eat out often, maybe 3 times a month, i don’t eat a lot of sweets, diabetes runs in my dad’s side of the family, my dad has it, my dad’s mother and both of her parents had it and my dad’s father was border line diabetic, there is no history of diabetes on my mother’s side, my questions are how likely am i to develop diabetes? is my chance 50/50 or no? is type 2 diabetes a dominant gene? also, i have noticed i’ve been urinating more lately, but i have not had any blurred vision, no extreme thirst and no extreme hunger, could i have it? i got tested for it a few months ago when i was in the hospital and i tested negative, how often are people supposed to get tested? and besides my exercizing and trying to eat better is there anything else i can do to prevent it? i drink a lot of diet soda, could this be why i’m urinating so much? i’m so confused, thanks for reading and answering.
i’m 19 years old.

How do I tell if my blood sugar is low?

Me and my dad both share the trait of having a problem with low blood sugar. Today I feel really tired ( I know I got plenty of sleep last night ) and every time I get up I get really dizzy. Is this a sign that my blood sugar is low?

I was recently diagnosed with pre diabetes because I went to the doctor having all the main symptoms of diabetes. I had lost a lot of weight in just a short amount of time without trying. I was hungry all the time, but my stomach hurt. I was SO thirsty and I had to pee pretty much every 20 minutes. My doctor did the fasting glucose test and the A1C and said that my levels were close, but not quite diabetic yet. She also said that since my dad is diabetic and he has a meter that I should test periodically and if I start seeing numbers consistantly over 120 that I need to be retested. The reason I’m asking about symptoms is because someone I was talking to told me that unless your blood sugar is like 400 or higher you won’t have any of the symptoms I had. I haven’t tested very much, but I have a few times when I started to get the familiar symptoms and my blood sugar was pretty much always over 120. 2 of the times it was 150 5 hours after eating, but the next morning I checked and it had gone back down. So I was wondering if this friend was right or not? Does you blood sugar have to be REALLY high to have symptoms or does even just a little over 120 give some people them? Also, because it’s been high so often I find that I feel sicker when it drops back down again, even though I know it needs to be lower. Is there any way to fix that? I already eat really healthy, and I’ve cut out basically all sweets except on rare special occasions (like Christmas! Haha) Even when I do have them though it’s just in small portions. I’m an average weight, and I’ve started exercising more so that my body would need the carbs and sugar instead of having too much. Is there something else I need to be doing along with that? Does the fact that I’m doing everything my doctor said and still getting the high numbers mean that I’m going to get diabetes anyways? Please help! :)

I’m doing this for my whole family. I live with my uncle as well who has diabetes. So my question is what is an ideal diet/ or even healthy snack changes that can work for everyone!

Like we have already changed to whole wheat bread, we have lots of fruits and veggies.

So like alternative snacks and meals.

The worst problem is both my dad and uncle drink a lot of diet soda!
It’s so bad for them but literally they are addicted, if my dad doesn’t have soda in the morning he gets major headaches and feels sick.

Thanks guys
