My father got diabetes when he was 17 and he is now 54 and doing pretty well. Nobody on my mom’s side or my husband’s side has juvenile diabetes. My Dad’s sister’s daughter’s son got it when he was 6. I heard Juvenile diabetes skips generation. I am 30 and planning to start a family but worried about my children getting this disease. How common is it to pass this to grand kids? Please provide as much info you have. Really appreciate it.

My Dad’s in the donut hole and just found out that his insulin is going to cost bottle. Other than Sam’s Club, any other suggestions on where to get insulin less expensively?
Just FYI - Sam’s quoted a price of -25 a bottle, but it requires me to get a membership. I’m fine with that if it is the only option.

Whenever I eat too much sugar or not enough protein, I first get really tired, then very anxious and queasy. It always wears off after a while, but my friends are concerned. My dad says I just have low blood sugar, but my friends are worried it’s the start of diabetes. What do you think?

I know diabetes can’t be cured but whether it’s injections or tablets etc. Thanks!
No it’s not homework. My dad thinks that he might have diabetes and I’m worried that I could have it too so I just want to know a little bit more about it.

I found out that my dad has been diagnosed as having pre-diabetes. I was told that I may have some of the symptoms that may indicate the same thing. For instance, I get shaky and irritable if I haven’t eaten in a long while. How can I modify my diet so that I won’t get diabetes and have to be on insulin all the rest of my life?

Is it normal to feel dizzy/lightheaded if you don’t eat anything for 8 hours? Can a person have hypoglycemia and diabetes?
Just curious. I once tested my blood sugar levels with those testers for people with diabetes, and it was 5.9, and I had just drank hot chocolate and eaten some food. Is that normal for a teen girl?
Thanks!
My dad has diabetes. How likely is it that I will get it at some point in my life?

He is a diabetic. His step mom first said I had to pay all the medical expenses then they would reimburse me.The court order says in one place that he must pay 100% of all medical bills his insurance doesn’t cover, then in fine print it says all over 250 they must pay.I am trying to get him on Medicaid to pay for his insulin which his dad and step mom is refusing to pay for since court.I have filed a show cause. What can I do I only make 9.50 and hour and they make over 60000 per year.I bought his insulin and supplies which is 100 dollars a month and the judge only ordered him to pay me 60 dollars a week.First she said we don’t have to pick up his medicine and waste our gas you have to pick it up and we reimburse now she says we don’t have to pay the first 250 how can a man do his son like that Oh by the way I won because of medical neglect

He injects insulin, and i don’t know what else, but he don’t follow a diabetic diet nor does he exercise. Plus not only our diet has lots of beef and pork. During the week he goes to work and comes home around 4:00 p.m we eat and he goes to the couch watch tv and next thing you know hes snoring. And this is an every day routine. No exercise what so ever. I won’t blame him for the most part cause he has one leg that he can not or has little strength to move. So he can not run or walk straight. Since he was a teen. What things can i say to him about diabetes that might scare him to get him to care more about hes health. So im asking please i really need help on this one you guys, hes my dad, he might not be the best dad but i do love him and i care about him!
