this is difficult to write, my doctor told me I was type 2 diabetic – there were several factors for this to be untrue, i even had a second opinion and further tests, which left me and the doctors wondering whether I was even diabetic at all.
Anyway I was in total denial – but then last week my eyes went very blurry – i went to the opticions and they said my eyes looked fine but she did me a prescription for glassess. I didnt pick them up or chose any yet. then yesterday I woke up and could see perfectly fine. so now im doubting the fact that they said im not diabetic.
anyway, losing my vision properly for those few days really stressed me and worried me.. so Iive decided im going to live as a diabetic. im 24… I feel so so ashamed to be type 2 at this age. My mum is so… I told you so and that it is all my fault.. well it probably is… but I can’t go back now.
The last few days this has been my general diet. I work shifts so it is sometimes hard.
Breakfast: 2 slices of Burgens bread with a small bit of peanut button on.
Lunch: usually a tuna salad, or cheese and cut up peppers
Dinner: Sauage and sala, or steak and salad, yesterday I did have some new potatos (i have read potatoes you should not have many due to the carbs.
sometimes if im hungry I have 2 nairns cracker things with tiny bit of peanut butter and cheese in the late evening, is that ok?
I do have a meter but cannot afford the strips atm and doc says i cant get them as type 2 anyway
i have had an ogtt, it came back 11.1 but the doctor doubts it as i was ill at the time it was done… and my readins have been normal since. however i question it now due to my bluury vission for 3 days
and two doctors told me as a diabetic type 2, you cant get them on prescription they said i dont need to test all the time
i know diet doesnt determine diagnosis. im just asking… IS my diet ok???
