A few months ago I started noticing that even though I was eating the same…I started gaining weight. Then I started getting real shaky about 30 minutes after I ate certain things. If it was a sub, I felt very shaky, hyper, but cloudy headed feeling. If I ate a salad however, I would get so extremely tired but still shaky. Recently I started getting headaches to go along with all this. (I haven’t been able to keep track of the headaches and which type of food they come with)
I don’t eat anything with sugar except bread I guess. I don’t like sweets, and if I have coffee I make it with Sweet & Low. I rarely drink soda, but if I do then it is diet.
I am having some tests done in a few days and I am expecting it to be type 2 diabetes.
The thing that scares the crap out of me is that I am also getting tested for syncope and have to have my heart monitored for 24 hours.
How badly should I stop smoking (2-3 packs a week)? Will that really help my heart and type 2? (If that’s it)
The Syncope that I am being tested for is because I have a history of just passing out whenever. After I eat…..before……whenever it likes to creep up. It could be years in between episodes, or just weeks. It doesn’t happen when I make sudden changes from sitting or laying down, to getting up. Two times ago it happened while I was driving very briefly. This was more of a black out that lasted 2 seconds. My heart was extremely rapid for over 2 hours after and I was exhausted. The hospital didn’t turn anything up. The last time it happened was a few weeks ago. I got up in the middle of the night and I ended up breaking my nose and giving myself a concussion cuz I landed on the floor.

And I recently came to find out that the father that owns the house,
Has diabetes ( type 2 )

- I felt absolutely terrible for him…
So I have been trying to figure out what foods he should be eating on a daily basis, & what foods he should avoid because he suffers from diabetes?

I’d like to note, that they are a Mexican family,
His wife mostly cooks Mexican foods for him…
So if you have any ideas for what kind of Mexican
food you can find that would help his diabetes,
American food counts as well!!!!

Does anyone know if its safe to use Byetta along with Avandia & Metformin for type II diabetes?

I am making chocolate peanut butter fudge, for some members of my family, & one of them is diabetic, so i thought i would try to make a batch, using splenda, but don’t know if it is going to turn out ok, any help would be appreciated.

I’m a 13 year old type 1 diabetic, & i want to lose some weight.
I need some tips on what to eat, how to excersise, ect ect.
since I’m diabetic, I can’t skip meals. and I have to have carbohydrates. at least 60 grams of carbs per meal.
one of the main problems i have is when i get bored, i tend to snack. aaalot.

I want to know if I have any sort of a legal case?
Well about a year ago my daughter 11 yrs old. had problems with very low blood sugar & the peditrician that we had made me test her 3 times a day and as she was symptomatic. Well the Dr.my daughter seen left the practice just recently about 8 months ago & handed it on to another doc in the mean time. Well the new Dr. called in more refills for my daughters script (glucose test strips) and I kept treating her as the previous Dr. told me to do.
In the mean time The pharmacy where I go to which is the only pharmacy near my town, has been filling the script. A few times during gym the nurse had to test & retest my daughter due to hypoglycemia and the nurse used a quite a few strips so I called the pharmacy they filled them early like 6 days early. Well the pharmasist got mad and told me that I was abusing my daughters test strips and told me that I cannot get them filled early anymore although my insurance covered them early and refused to give me my daughters strips. He then accused me for using them myself or giving them to someone else!
So I called my insurance company and they told me they would call the pharmacy and make sure they would be dispersed and the pharmacy still would not! In desperation and lack of other resources I called the Dr.s office and they said I would have to think of something different because the pharmasist called and told them I was misusing the stips for something other than my daughter and suggested to the doc that he cancel the script, the doc cancelled them and told me to go find another doc who would fill them. I was embarassed and mad knowing that I woulkd not abuse such a thing and my daughter needs them.
So I went to the pharmacy to buy some over the counter so she could have some to bring to school with her and the pharmacy told me no. so my daughter had to go to school & play a soccer game without strips because of this. She is a hypoglycemic and has no strips. I have no other way of getting them and I am a scared Mom for her.
Not to mention that is the only pharmacy wothin 2 1/2 hr drive and they wont help. Also the way the pharmacist humiliated me and made things difficult tees me off. Do I have any leagal cases on this? What should be my next step? Thank You

I found a science fair project online that’s testing the glucose levels in fruits. It told me that I needed glucose test strips, and glucose tablets, fruit, and that’s all. I bought the strips, and when I tried them, nothing happened. There was also nothing in the directions about a color code system or anything on how to get results, just how to put it into a meter and stuff. I bought Walgreens Brand Blood Glucose Test Trips : Truetrack. I have no experience with diabetes. The test strips were expensive enough, and I’d REALLY like to not have to buy a meter. If the test strips absolutely REQUIRE a meter, do you have any ideas whatsoever to what I should do from here? Thank you SO much!!!

We are going to Florida & being a Diabetic, I have stuff like syringes, test strips & lancets & pills. I’ve tried to find info on the Newark Airport Website but am having no luck! Has anyone traveled with any of this stuff before? HELP!!!

My blood sugar is 240 & I am a diabetic.

I am an overweight women(27) with a family history of diabetes(type 1 &2). Two weeks ago I started getting bad headaches and blurry vision with in an hour of eating. Every time I tested my sugar when that happened it was around 145-160. My lows (prior to eating are 70-80) with feelings of edginess and irratability. Fasting is also around 75. Could I be diabetic. My mother (who is tpye 1) says my levels are not high enough to be concerned but I feel out of whack.

She is 18 and she’s obese (I calculated her BMI). Diabetes (type 1 & 2) runs in the family and I am worried about her, she refuses to eat right and exercise at all.

What should I do? Call the family doctor or just schedule a test? She would never ask the doctor for a test and I don’t know if I should.

I don’t usually go to doctor appointments with her. But our family doctor has never talked to her about the dangers of being obese.
