It is making me so sick. It does being my sugar down some but I stay sick to my stomach, nausea, & diarrea. It is honestly making me sicker than the diabetes. I could tell when my sugar was high before but not since I am taking the metaformin500.
My diabetic hubby took it for a couple monthes but the flatulence was ungodly!!
I haven’t been to a doctor yet, but am thinking I probably should soon. I’ve had some mild episodes lately where I feel literally a "drop" of energy, feel VERY uncomfortable (esp. driving!!), & usually if I haven’t eaten enough (ie, 4+ hours), drank too much caffeine or alcohol, etc. I notice I feel better (obviously) if I cut out caffeine & alcohol, but still feel a low sometimes from lack of food, which I usually haven’t a problem with before. But I also have bad eating habits, & really need to change this, such as eating big meals & not enough small ones, & the foods I eat (& don’t eat enough of)… it looks I can’t get away with this anymore. So my questions are can you be hypoglycemic without being a diabetic, or could I be diabetic? I know my grandma was diabetic, so there is some family history. I know the best answer is to see a doctor, but I’m curious as to what kind of doctor, what to tell them about symptoms I’ve been having, & what to expect. Thanks!
Also, I’m not overweight & well within my normal weight, & workout pretty regularly.
I am looking for some sodas in AZ or to order online. I have found 4 flavors from Diet Rite. I read in a blog about Waist Watchers but it’s only sold back east and can not be ordered online. Do you know where I can find any other sodas that are calorie, caffeine & carb free made with Splenda and not aspartame or sacharrine?
During a regualr blood test 4 years ago, my ALT and AST and GGT were found to be double than normal. When doctor checked the ultra sound he told me i have a fatty liver with inflammation and he said it is NASH.
As my weight was 120 kg and hight is 180 cm, he asked me to lose weight and do some regular daily sport.
After doing more detailed tests, he ommitted the other posiblities of having any kind of virus or immune reasons and stayed with the reasons related to obesity and said i am suffering from an insulin resistance case.
My All other blood figures where good, triglycérides is 85 only , HDL 65, LDL 150 , and all other related tests were very good including fasting sugar " below 100 "
My questions are:
1- I read that NASH is linked to High triglycérides / low HDL / and High LDL levels. Totally contrary to my case! can i still consider it that i have NASH with such results!!?? or what?? knowing that the inflammation in liver is clear in Ultra Sound.
My ALT & AST were about 50 and 75 and GGT was about 110 in the same tests.
2- Doctor asked me to take Avandia 4mg on dailt basis to improve insulin resistance and take off some pressure off the liver. After a month of treatment, liver functions figures went back to normal. all below 40.
But also after 4 months, they increased again to previous level but he told me to keep taking Avandia and lose the 5 kg i gained in these 4 months, maybe because of the drug itself. This was 18 months ago and after this i continued avandia but did not do any test. I still feel some pain in the upper right just below my rips.
Was Avandia the correct solution?? and what to take instead now after it is removed from the market in my country?? what is the best replacement if any?
3- Can Nash " if i have Nash " be reversed and how?? is there any new efective drug that solve the problem of liver inflammation and higher figures of enzimes ??
I can not go back to my doctor now koz he left the country and i have to start again with another one.
Hope to receive good news.
Thx A lot.

In addition to taking metformin, I just started injecting myself with byetta 3 wks ago, because my doctor told me it has less side effects than insulin. However, I get an acid stomach & diarrhea from it. Will this eventually go away?
I am unsure whether or not my blood sugar is high or low.
I get light headed, sometimes dizzy, my brain seems to fizzle out & I get rather… dumb, to be honest. & I feel drained.
I do not want to see a doctor about it if I can help it, & I plan to buy a sugar meter in the near future.
Also, I have a low iron count, so I don’t know if that would have anything to do with it.
Thank you in advance.

Im in 9th grade & for my Wolrd History/Geography class we have to do a pyramid project.
The project is about what i would take back in time with me. I can use 3D objects & pictures. Gotta glue them on the inside & hole punch the tops then use a ribbon or string to pull it together.
Im not sure what i want to do for it. Any ideas?

I’d like to cut back on the amount of white sugar I eat. What are some good sweeteners to replace sugar, especially in tea (besides honey, which takes sooo much to really sweeten anything!)? I won’t use artificial sweeteners like Splenda or Sweet & Low.
Also, is there much difference between white sugar and brown sugar, or is brown sugar just white sugar with molasses added?
I have type 1 diabetes and have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and am going through testing for lups, i have known several other women with type 1 & 2 diabetes having lupus. is this a common thing? something to somewhat expect?
An elderly female (87) has Diabetes Type 2. She checks her blood sugar every morning around 7 or 8 am before breakfast. Her blood sugar scores are as follows (from 9/1/09-9/10/09): 60, 64, 67, 73, 71, 88, 69, 82, 86, 55. She also takes these medications: propoxyphene & ibuprofen (for arthritis pain), paroxetine (depression), amlodipine (high blood pressure), furosemide and she has been taking warfarin for the past couple of months. She has had recently had swelling in her leg, ankle, foot and was diagnosed with venous disease (chronic blood clot) and prescribed the blood thinner. Last August she was rushed to the emergency room with hypoglycemia. To treat the Diabetes Type 2 what would be a good prescription for her, and what dosage would be sufficient?
