There will be someday. In the meantime, medical science is constantly improving the ability to treat and live with diabetes. Please don’t worry!
try not to get high blood pressure.
A vegan diet (not a junk food vegan diet) has been shown to reduce the need for insulin shots.
Currently there are no cure for diabetes type 1, 2 & 3.
prevention: exercise, become vegetarian, no meats
diabetes worst affect: blind or lost of sight
So your mom have it you & your sister/brother need to check too for possible inherit.
We have to hope for a cure, but in the meanwhile there are many things a diabetic can do to help themselves and still live a normal life. Excessive weight is the number one problem. I don’ t think you are at particular risk because she had it while pregnant with you. Do take good care of yourself and keep your weight down. Eat a healthy diet and exercise. Good luck.
As of now, there is no cure. But with today’s techonology it is very possible to keep diabetes under control, what with glucose strips, insulin, and maintaining a proper diet with exercise.
You were in your mother’s stomach? Interesting.
There’s no such thing as being "really close" to becoming diabetic. You either are, or you aren’t. My father is a diabetic. His doctor explained this to us extremely clearly.
Diabetes usually skips a generation. While I may be at a lower risk of getting it, I still must watch what I do. I wouldn’t want to become a diabetic.
There will never be a cure for diabetes, cancer, AIDS, or any of the large ‘Incurable" diseases. Only because that TREATING these diseases would prove more profitable than curing them.
If someone is cured, they don’t need treatment anymore. There’s no profit in not treating someone.
There is no cure now. A lot of money is being spent on research. As the disease continues to grow and spread more resources will go to finding a cure.
In the meantime diet, meds and excercise go a long way to keeping this ugly disease under control.
