Accu check makes some really good user friendly ones. They will provide the meter at no cost and then you purchase the strips and lancets. They have a new lancet device that is a cartridge that holds 6 lancets so you don't have to reload it each time and the needle is so tiny and you can barely feel the stick. I've seen and used a lot of meters but I am really impressed with theirs right now. You can probably check out their web site. Your physician will have to write a prescription for this and your strips in order for your insurance to pay. If you don't have insurance, accu check makes a basic model that is cheaper.
