Is there a glucometer that does not require you to prick your finger?
I keep hearing people talk about it, but I don’t see how you can check your blood without pricking the finger. I am still fairly new at this and my poor old fingers are bruised and sore all the time.

This is in addition to Nana’s answer which provide the most accurate answer to the alternate test sites you are referring to and why they are not that good. I don’t know what gauge lancet you use. There are 33 gauge lancets available. If you are getting the lancet which came with your device it could be 25 to 28 gauge (the lower the gauge the more pain). The one touch delica has a 33gauge lancet, the problem with them is the price. If you have insurance and pay more for brand name you will pay more for for the delica lancets. You can get the Wavesense 33 gauge lancet at an independent pharmacy for $4-$6. They fit in any standard lancing device. If you have a generic copay you should pay that. Also use one hand for a week and different spots on the finger. You don’t have to use the same finger in one day. With all of this you should reduce the soreness. If you want to see the scum on the internet search "glucometers with no blood" and see how many come up. They don’t exist, they are just trying to get you to their site. Greedy dirtballs. They don’t care about the 10 year old child who just got excited when they saw this.
Set the depth charge on your lancet to a different number as you are jamming in too deeply if your fingers are bruised!! I almost never bruise, but the other day at the hospital, they used their lancet to check my glucose level and dang!! Poked a hole in my finger all the way to the bone and I thought it would never quit bleeding!!
No, there is no lancet on the market that does not prick some part of your body. You can do the pricking on your inner arm or inner leg, but you will need to do it that way consistantly or you will get skewed numbers as they are not the same as periferal blood.
You must get blood some way to test with ANY glucometer on the market today.
There is a meter that allows you to prick a location on your arm. I’ve heard about it but haven’t tried it.
There are several glucometers that will allow you to prick your forearm, my friend.
Actually it’s not the glucometer but the pricker device. And yes, there are some pricker devices that can get blood from your forearm.
