It has been shown that stress does cause an increase in blood glucose levels, but they haven’t shown what levels of stress can cause this increase or if the increase would be enough to cause somebody to be diagnosed with diabetes.
Perhaps the patients were pre-diabetic and stress pushed them over the edge.
There is a great deal of research that shows stress and anxiety can increase your blood sugar level.
Not sure about worrying as the cause of increased blood sugar levels. I do know that when I’m under stress, my body processes glucose differently. The more stress the higher my readings.
I say yes, when I am stressing my BS go up and stay there for awhile.
