I am looking for ways to get animal insulin?

My sister who is older than I am has had diabetes for 26 years and I have had it for 9 years. We are both insulin dependent and on NovoLog. She noted that years ago she used to use animal insulin and thought it worked better for her. I asked my doctor about it and he said it is still a touchy subject but the animal insulin is still being made in the UK but isn’t brought over to the US. He said I could still have it shipped to me from the UK but I am having trouble locating it. Does anyone know where I could find this insulin?

Er, animal insulins are out of favor for a reason: people had much worse BG control and tended to die younger on animal insulins.
call the pharmaceutical company of the drug you are using now. As far as I know, insulin is made from pigs and other sources.
