I suggest calling the doctor who has ordered your test,
and discuss your symptoms with ‘him’.
If you are worried enough to go to the ER, & you can’t reach your doctor at his office, use his emergency number. It should be offered by the message machine.
I also recommend doing some research independent of your doctor about diabetes, such as:

– "The Silent Killer"
– The Challenge of Treatment
– A Disease of the young?
– The Role of Glucose, the Pancreas, and Sugar
– Diabetes Simplified

That^ is a very good introduction to the problem.
The following are several places for some serious research
of natural methods for handling Diabetes:

As various of the above postings relate, ‘OVCO’, spirulina, & also cinnammon, are each capable of helping to balance blood sugar levels. Specific minerals are also helpful, as is a specific diet.
Worst case scenario is if you have diabetes and you are at the stage of losing weight rapidly, then you could go into a coma. Other then that you may find it hard to concentrate and increased thirst/urination may have a big impact on your daily activities.
As you are the only one who can judge the seriousness of ‘not feeling well,’ this is a decision you have to make for yourself. If you decide you can make it through the weekend, then I would suggest finding another doctor to make an earlier appt.
