I don`t believe your type one, maybe type two. What ever the case maybe you really need to talk to your parents and no they will not need a license or a doctors note.Usually you can get a meter online for free with about 10 test strips or due what I did and bought a Relion Confirm meter from Wal-Mart for about $12 and the test strips are $20.00 for 50
It will be better if you have a friend who has diabetes, or a friend of a friend, and let them to a test on you. They will have more experience and will do the test correctly,
If it is high, then it is time for a Doctor.
EDIT for this. Diabetes does not always have symptoms as JB mentioned. Getting tested should be part of a yearly checkup. Still, if you suspect having it, you need to be checked.
First, don’t waste money on this. If your parents saw anything wrong with you and suspected diabetes, they would have taken you to the doctor already. At 13, it is easy to over-exaggerate symptoms that you have into any disease. And, unless you have a parent or both parents with diabetes, your chances are slim that you will have this. Most concerning about your post is that you have not had any discussion with your parents about any symptoms that you have been having and let them decide if they are serious enough to make a doctor’s appointment for you.
