It depends on where you live and what lab its done at. Around here, all labs take 3 days to send the results to your doctor.
So, judging from all the responses, anywhere from 1 to 3 days.
he can test it in the office right away to determine if you have above normal reading if so will send you for blood test
fasting blood test results come back in two days….immediate test in office indicator only of high sugar levels at that moment, not a true test of diabetes…better test is A1C blood test — results in two days….
he can do a finger stick in the office for a general idea of what your sugar is at that moment. lab work which will at least include an a1c results can come back as quickly as overnight, but also take in excess of a week – depends on the lab, the day you have it done, and your doctors schedule. if the results were dramatically serious, i’m sure you’d be contacted right way.
an a1c will give the average of your blood sugars over the last three months. luck.
