It is best to watch all her carbs. she should be allowed 3 carb that is 15 grams = 1 carb and being she is sick her sugar is going to be higher and she made need extra medications just if she can get up and walk that will help and do not let her have any more carbs. if she continues to get worse you are going to have to take her to the E R but for now just get her up and get her to moving if possible. Try out the Web site American Diabetes Association God Bless

Is she taking insulin injections? I don't think she needs to go to the emergency room, but she should probably see her doctor to get her blood sugar adjusted better.

She should avoid eating carbs right now - eat protein.
A brisk walk or other exercise will bring it down.

My guess would be to lay off the carbs for a while.

No bread, pretzels, anything like that for a few hours. Stick to protein-rich foods, cheese, meats, whatever. Definitely stay away from any sugary foods like soda pop or candy.

The best thing to do is take a walk or somethign else active. This will bring the sugar down naturally. Also an insulin injection will help. For future reference if this happens around a meal time, she should eat or order non carb meals, meats etc, or have salad and fruits, since there low in carbs and sugar. She should also drink alot of water to avoid keytones.
