My one hour glucose test came back (surprisingly!) high so I am scheduled to have a three hour test on wednesday. Meanwhile I bought a home glucose monitor and started to test myself. My morning (fasting) level was 82, after I ate a small serving of cereal with whole milk it jumped to 123.
After some 3 hours it was 84 again but an hour after I ate a single slice of cheese pizza it was againvery high - 134. I am really stressed out because of this. I dread to think what would the raise be if I ate the regular two slices followed by a soda. I m already 35 weeks along, and nothing at all indicated that I might have gestational diabetes. My weight gain is normal and my baby is of average size. What could the damage be to the baby if it turns out that I was diabetic all along? What do you think about these numbers? Please help
The one hour test came back very high - 178. I had almost nothing to eat that day (test was taken at 2 pm.) because I spent it at the clinic. I only ate stuff from vending machines - soda and cookies .I was also very stressed. Could this have influenced the result in any significant way?
