I find differing information on whether or not a diabetic can get a medical certificate to become a private pilot in the US. One reference says "no" and the other say "yes" with additional testing and other requirements.

If "yes" is correct, what are the additional tests or requirements?

I was just watching Family Guy and Carter made Peter drink his diabetic blood. I was kinda’ wondering what actually HAPPENS if you, as a healthy person, drink a diabetic’s blood.

My new boyfriend is a type 2 Diabetic. and sometimes his Blood suger is over 240. I am wondering if its something I am feeding him or if he is cheating on his diet!

We are buying prescription food, but it’s so expensive on top of the insulin. It’s getting hard to afford. Then I read somewhere that prescription food has loads of carbs as well (Hills Science M/D). Then I thought, why not fresh chicken/beef etc as there’s no carbs and therefore no sugar?

I’ve just been wondering about it lately because my feet get a little dry and I have seen pictures and terms as to which the severe cases are of the diabetic foot, but I just want to know what they feel and look like when you are in the prosses of getting diabebtes or you do have diabetes. Patient is a Type 1 diabetic and takes insulin twice a day. What would the concern be in regards to their medication when scheduled for a local or sedation case at the hospital?

My father has type 2 diabetes. He’s appointed to have all his remaining upper teeth removed to be replaces by a denture and also a few mandibular extractions which will only leave him with his canines to hold a partial. These appliances are in process. In the meantime my father had a 2nd opinion and was told that it was too aggresive of a treatment, to not have th extracted because of the risk factors. We know my father has periodontal disease with major bone loss, and that eventually he’ll loose these teeth. My question is, what are the risk factors in oral surgery and prosthetic appliances in a type 2 diabetic as opposed to waiting for each tooth to hurt and get infected?
