Healthy readings should be anywhere from 90-120. 84 is just out of that range and nothing to worry about. 120 after eating is also fine. The best time to check your sugars to see what a meal has done though is 1-2 hours after eating, not right away. And it’s normal for the sugars to go up after eating.
The things that you watch when eating anything is the carbohydrate count. That’s what makes your sugars go up and down.
84-120 4 hours after eating would be normal. It most likely would have even been a little higher had you tested it around 2 PM.
Even though you are not diabetic, maybe have a read through some of the articles in the link I’ve provided. It’s geared for Diabetics, but contains a lot of useful information about blood sugars, nutrition, and carb-counting.
Cheers and best of health
By the way, that’s an excellent meter you bought. I have the exact same one. Works like a charm, holds a ton of readings and other info, and also has a software program you can download, enabling you to connect your meter to your computer and make all kinds of graphs and charts with your results!
yes thats totally normal.
it changes periodically.
your fine :]
THose are perfect levels. The only time you should worry is if you haven’t eaten for 8 hours and test yourself and it is over 140. That is bad. But so far you seem right on. Normal glucose range is 70 – 110.
a spike for me is 100 turning into 400 after a meal.
84 to 120 is not a spike at all you have absolutely nothing to worry about
