I feel so good when I am on it, so I think it is ideal. Bad news is, I never could stick to it. Don't know why when it made me feel so much better. The problem is that if you are on insulin therapy you need to balance your insulin with carbs otherwise you will end up with dangerous hypoglycemia. If your not on insulin then the atkins diet may be benificial to you. You need to do this in consultation with your docor. Jules, Australia. It really just follows the food pyramid, and spreads it out over the course of the day, so your body doesn't go into hunger mode and decide it's going to start "saving" as many calories as it can get as fat.
