My wife is a diabetic and is now on byetta the shot but gets sick at night every time she takes it and 90% of the time throws up a few hours after she takes it and eats. She has been on it for a few weeks. She called her drs office twice and left messages with the office staff and the said they would talk to the Doctor but never did and never got back to her. What should she do? When will she get used to this? At times she has fever too but not much.

If I used a sugar substitute in a cake recipe originally written for using real sugar, would it affect the texture or density of the cake in any way? Also, what is the best-tasting sugar substitute? I’ve never used sugar substitutes in my baking, so I’d like to know which ones are best to use-I plan on baking a cake for my dad’s birthday in a couple of days.

I get them free in the U.K, but I’m curious. Apparently, they cost a lot of money.

I’m not too fat, but not thin, and I like eating. I’m wondering if I can get type 2 diabetes?
Also, if I eat cinnamon frequently will it help avoiding it?

I just started at the end of march. I take 2000mg of glucophage a day which is a total of 4 pills a day. I have heard from people that it causes weight gain but I lost 10 pounds. Is my weight loss temporary? Have you or someone you know gained or lost weight?

I just had some non-fat ice cream made with splenda ( cause I’m on a diet ) and I have a terrible headache right now. Is this a normal side effect of using Splenda? If so, this sucks.
I had "Sinless Sans Fat Sweet Cream" from Cold stone creamery.

I tested my blood sugar, after fasting and it was 143. The next day I did the same thing, without eating for twelve hours prior. And it read 182. Is this normal for a young teenager?
