I am borderline diabetic and hypoglycemic. I feel dizzy a lot and have migraines. I am always sleepy too. I can be anywhere from 60 to 160 glucose monitoring. I feel really worried that something else is wrong with me. How do I know if my diabetes is alright even though I am having these other symptoms? I just want to know if I am alright and my doctor isn’t informative like I need her to be. I am eating right and I still feel like crap. My doctor prescribed me with Metformin but I am honestly nervous about taking this since my sugar levels are anywhere from 60-160 during the day and I am afraid of a diabetic attack or something. Can someone please help me understand my symptoms and put my mind at ease? I am type 2 by the way.

– How does type 2 diabetes impact the body over the short term (daily, monthly, or over 1 to 5 years)?

– How does this disorder impact the body over extended periods of time (10 to 30 years or more)?

–Please help me find both answers. If possible, the short term is more important to have.

On two occasions that my blood was tested, the fasting blood sugar was above normal (106), but the blood sugar an hour after a meal was within limits (85).

Isn’t this an anomaly?
