Will test strips from another brand work in my meter?
I am a new diabetic, so I dont know much about this. I have a Precision XTra glucose meter, will Bayer Breeze or Contour strips work in my meter?

I am a new diabetic, so I dont know much about this. I have a Precision XTra glucose meter, will Bayer Breeze or Contour strips work in my meter?
I have recently been seeing a reproductive endocrinologist for fertility issues. Through testing he has found that I have PCOS (which I have known for years), I am pre-diabetic, AND I have hypothyroidism. I am going on Metformin, which I have been on before, and Synthroid. I am going to be meeting with a nutritionist in a few weeks to arrange a proper diet that meets the restrictions of my pre-diabetes as well as my hypothyroidism.
I’m just wondering if anyone else with both conditions has met with a nutritionist. If so, what was the diet like? What types of foods (besides the obvious white breads, potatoes, starches) were you told to avoid? What types of foods did you learn were beneficial for both conditions? I would like to know so I can start getting myself healthy now rather than waiting two more weeks and eating potentially dangerous foods.
I definitely don’t think that I’m going to really harm myself in a few weeks, but I would like to stay away from the foods that have put me in this position and I would like to start ASAP. I have even heard that for hyothyroidism that foods like broccoli and spinache can be no-no’s. Who knows if that’s true, but I already about sugars, starches, and white processed breads and pastas. I’m looking for those foods that one might not expect, but cause harm to people with hypo and pre-diabetes.
I read somewhere that taking insulin before bedtime (any or just fast-acting) is bad before bedtime. I was wondering if there is any truth to this? Thanks in advance.
I want to be able to have a 7, 14, & 30 day Average of my Blood Glucose Levels. I measure it between 1 & 6 times every day. These averages will help me monitor the BG levels and help to maintain a healthy ave.
Does anybody out there in cyberland have a solution for me?
I am using excel 2003.
Thanks In Advance
No medication, just diet and exercise.
Average must be of all readings over the 7, 14 & 30 periods.
To all those that have answered my question, Thank You. But it appears nobody has read the question. I don’t want to know what causes the problems or what drugs etc to ease the problem, I just want to know how to get a 7, 14 & 30 ave of all the tests at any give time or date.
It’s a mathematical problem nothing more nothing less. Please if you know the answer help me. If you don’t know the answer, don’t waste my time telling me about the medical solutions etc. Remember it’s a mathematical problem using excel 2003 that I want a solution to.
I already have a current running ave reading, BUT as asked above I need 7, 14 & 30 averages avail at any given test.
TIA
I know they exist, but I don’t know what to look up to fond one. It’s a person that helps you with your nutrition, health, exercise, and menu planning and other things. Does any one know what we call these people, or what to look them up as? I am looking for one in Bay Area California.
Both glucose and fructose have the same molecular formula (C6H12O6) but, in an experiment for lab, we found that fructose was utilized about 1/2 as much during the anaerobic respiration for yeast. I know their structures are different but what is it exactly about their differing structures that makes glucose preferred more than fructose by yeast.
i want to join the army soon and i think i might be diabetic.

I heard it does something to your appetite. Is it true? Usually have one with my tea, any more and it seems true for me.
I’m about 3 kilos overweight, but I also have a family history of diabeties. I was wondering how overweight must you be before diabetes is a risk, or in other words, if I were to get diabetes now, would it be more likely due to my family history of diabetes or my 3 kilo overweight (at 75 when normal is 73kilos) ?
I am 18 and I recently was diagnosed with diabetes… but they have yet to tell me if i am type one or two but my nutritionist thinks that I am type one cause i am young and not over weight. I am not on insulin yet. i am just trying to control with diet and excersiseToday during lunch time I felt really weak and I dont remember actually eating, i was wondering if its possible to be type 1, not on insulin and get hypoglycemic?
